Who it's for
Anyone 12+ with an interest in electronics, communications, public service, or emergency preparedness. No prior experience needed.
What you'll learn
Regulations, operating procedures, basic electronics and antenna theory, RF safety, and how to make your first contacts on the air.
Exam & license
Pass the ISED Basic exam (≥70% Basic, ≥80% with Honours) and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada issues your callsign for life.
After the course
We help with your first radio, programming the local repeaters, and getting on the Monday Night Net. Mentors ("Elmers") are part of the club.
